One of the great parts of our business is helping our customers understand all of their options when it comes to exterior and interior doors, trim, molding, and hardware. When we started our company, we wanted to fill a need in the central Florida market and provide consumers with a reliable and trusted one-stop-shop for doors, trim, molding, hardware, and installation. 

We started by researching the industry to find manufacturers that “fit” into our vision of building a resource for central Florida homeowners beyond the big box stores. We sought out companies offering durable, aesthetically beautiful, high-quality products at an affordable price that are sustainably manufactured in the United States. As a result, we've managed to build great relationships with some of the top manufacturers in the country!

Meet Steves & Sons Doors: A True Family Business for Over 150 Years

Since 1866 the Steves family has been making and selling fine quality products. Their story begins in San Antonio, which in the 1860s was just a small Mexican-style adobe village. Edward Steves and his sons Edward Jr., Albert, and Earnest started a lumber business. Their pioneer spirit and key company philosophy: "supply what's needed today, stay ahead and be ready to supply what's needed tomorrow," along with their hard work and dedication, helped them to grow rapidly. 

As a result of their perseverance, San Antonio quickly became the heart of the lumber business for the southwestern United States and northern Mexico. By 1879, Steves stocked an average of three million board feet of lumber, serving the growing frontier's building needs. 

In 1904 Steves & Sons established a millwork plant to distribute affordable products for consumers more efficiently. By 1912, the millwork plant was so successful that they renamed the business Steves Sash and Door Company. Just four short years later, Steves was the largest millwork company in the southwest! The company continued to grow and expand, and between 1950 and 1970, they produced over one million exterior and interior doors. 

Six generations later, Steves & Sons continues its commitment to quality, craftsmanship, style, and sustainability. With manufacturing plants in Lebanon, Tennessee (205,000 sq. ft.), a new premium wood and fiberglass plant in San Antonio, and its newest state-of-the-art 210,000 sq. ft. plant in Richmond, Virginia, Steves & Sons continues to build its reputation with homeowners, and builders across the country. To this day, Steves & Sons continue their emphasis on quality materials, new technology, and efficient distribution.
